When shopping for local food resources, ask questions. Owners are happy to answer questions about origin of their products, production methods, and some offer tours. 

Here are some resources for finding local food in Upstate South Carolina:


  • Clemson University Student Organic Farm
    Clemson University.  Buy seasonal organic vegetables, including heirloom varieties, by subscription or at a weekly farmer's market located at the farm (usually from early May through September). Clemson eggs and meat products are also available.    
  • Upstate Food Co-op
    404 John Holliday Rd., Six Mile, 864-868-3105.  Member-based; work hours at store for greater food discount. Variety of foods that are local, organic, and/or conventional. Also, other household and personal supplies like paper products, cleaning and laundry supplies, deodorant, vitamins, etc.
  • Farmers Markets
    Pendleton, Anderson, Seneca, Walhalla
  • Denver Downs Market
    Located on the right side of Route 76 on the way to Anderson. Local vegetables and fruits in season, meat, grits, flowers in season, Other local and regional products plus Amish country items.
  • Happy Cow Creamery, Located at 332 McKelvey Road in Pelzer, 864-243-9699, email trandairy@bellsouth.net. Store Hours: M-F 9:00 - 7:00, Sat. 9:00 - 5:00). Wide variety of products including local hog sausage, chicken, eggs, organic fruits/vegetables in season.
  • Bee Well Honey Farm and Market, 205 Hampton Avenue, Pickens on Route 8. Across from CVS.  864-898-5122. Organic fruits and vegetables, local honey products, and more.  
  • Upstate Farmers Alliance
    1038 Pinckney Road, Pauline, SC, 29374, 864-595-0344.  A small group of local family farms dedicated to the production and distribution of all-natural beef, chicken, turkey, lamb and other meats.  
  • Produce Stands
    Sources vary, but some carry produce from their own farm or try to carry products from nearby states. Kathey’s on Route 76 & Redmond Brothers in Seneca are two good sources of local produce.

  • Happy Berry Farm

  • Harmony Dairy
    Located in Westminster. Map at their website.  Whole, lowfat, raw, chocolate, and buttermilk diary products.
  • Hunter Farms & Greenhouses

  • Rose Hill Plantation

A u-pick (we pick sometimes) farm featuring some hard to find varieties - such as lemon cucumbers and other local food products like Happy Cow Milk, butter, cheeses, Split Creek Goat Cheeses.
